Artificial Intelligence is changing the way we work and live. UdeM researchers actively participate in the advancement of artificial intelligence research. The revolutionary expansion in AI, in the past five years, is twinned to the exponential growth of research advancements in Machine Learning, which provides computers with the ability to learn without being explicitly programmed for this purpose. Machine Learning has made leaps and bounds because of major fundamental inroads in Deep Learning. The Montréal Institute for Learning Algorithms (MILA), a powerhouse of world-class Machine Learning and Deep Learning researchers, and the Institute for data Valorisation (IVADO), a scientific and economic data science hub, directly contribute in making Montréal a world-renowned center in Artificial Intelligence.
