Research expertise

Le Dr Vincent Taschereau-Dumouchel est neuropsychologue et chercheur en neuroscience cognitive. Ses travaux visent à utiliser l’apprentissage automatique et la neuroimagerie en temps réel afin d’épauler le travail clinique en santé mentale. Lors de sa formation postdoctorale, il a travaillé au développement du neurofeedback décodé, une méthode d’intervention novatrice combinant l’apprentissage automatique à la neuroimagerie en temps réel. Cette approche permet d’entraîner des participants à exercer un contrôle sur des patrons d’activité cérébrale déterminés par apprentissage automatique.

Les travaux de son équipe visent à utiliser cette technologie afin de développer de nouvelles avenues d’intervention en santé mentale. Leurs travaux visent également à mieux comprendre les processus cérébraux impliqués dans l’expérience subjective des émotions afin de mieux concevoir leurs rôles dans les troubles anxieux.
