Cynthia Qian est professeure adjointe de clinique au Département d'ophtalmologie de l'Université de Montréal et chirurgienne au CHU Sainte-Justine. Elle est également vice-présidente de la Société canadienne de la rétine et présidente de la section des jeunes professionnels.

En 2018, la D^re Qian a été nommée professionnelle de l'année par la Jeune Chambre de commerce de Montréal. Elle a aussi été nommée personnalité de La Presse en 2017.
