Research expertise

  • Digital preservation
  • Creative process documentation
  • Electroacoustic music, Mixed music, Sound art

My subjects of research include the documentation of creative processes, especially in relation to sound and music, as well as digital preservation. I apply this research to several objects, including electroacoustic and mixed music, sound art, and, broadly speaking, anything at the crossroad of research, technology and art.

After studying geophysics and computer science at the master level, I worked at Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique / Musique (IRCAM) as an engineer from 2001 to 2009. I started my PhD in information science at McGill university (SIS) in 2009, followed by a postdoc at Faculté de musique – UdeM (LRGM) from 2013 to 2015. I was an assistant professor at SUNY Buffalo (DIS) from 2015 to 2017, and then joined UdeM in 2017.
