Profile
Biography
Professor Clouet holds a Master of Laws from McGill University, as well as a Master’s in Notarial Law and a Ph.D. from the Université de Montréal. Her research focuses on family law and human rights. Her thesis on the influence of the judge’s identity markers in decisions related to child custody in a post-separation context won the 2016 Thémis Award for best thesis and was published by Éditions Thémis.
Prior to joining the teaching body of the Faculty of Law at the Université de Montréal, Mrs. Clouet conducted a postdoctoral project for the Antoine-Turmel Research Chair on the Legal Protection of the Elderly. Her research was concerned with the protection of seniors through the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms and advance medical directives. She was also a lecturer at the Faculty of Law at the Université de Montréal, and at the Departments of Political Science and Juridical Science at the UQÀM. Professor Clouet teaches in the master’s program in notarial law and in the undergraduate law program
