Ma programmation de recherche applique une approche de système de santé apprenant afin d’optimiser l’intégration des infirmières et infirmiers de pratique avancée (IPA – IPS, ICS) dans les soins primaires et aigus au Canada. Plus précisément, dans les milieux où les IPA sont déjà en poste, les objectifs sont les suivants : 1) examiner et évaluer l’efficacité des modèles de soins existants impliquant les IPA, 2) étudier les liens entre l’intégration des IPA et les résultats organisationnels, d’équipe, de patient et liés aux coûts, et 3) comparer les stratégies d’intégration et les résultats des rôles des IPA au Québec et au Canada avec ceux observés dans d’autres systèmes de santé internationaux. Pour atteindre ces objectifs, j’utilise des approches reposant sur les données clinico-administratives, les méthodes d’apprentissage automatique et un processus de co-création impliquant les parties prenantes, les gestionnaires, les IPA, les autres professionnels de la santé et les patients. Cette démarche collaborative et itérative permettra de générer des données pertinentes et exploitables pour guider une intégration efficace et fondée sur des preuves des IPA au sein du système de santé canadien.
