Elle travaille actuellement sur deux grands projets de recherche subventionés. Le projet « Shakespeare au/in Québec » s’inscrit dans le cadre des humanités numériques. Ce projet bilingue et « open access » s’agit des éditions critiques d’une quarantaine de pièces de théâtres Québécois écrits depuis 1960 qui sont des adaptations des œuvres de Shakespeare. Ces éditions seront appuyées et mises en contexte par une base de données interactive qui contient l’histoire de chaque œuvre, des bibliographies, des entrevues avec les dramaturges, auteurs et comédiens, des analyses critiques et des vidéos et des photographies des productions. L'autre projet de recherche actuel explore la réception de la littérature espagnole au début de l'Angleterre moderne en rendant compte des circonstances entourant l'adaptation, la production, la diffusion, l'interprétation et la lecture des adaptations dramatiques de la littérature espagnole de John Fletcher (1579-1625). 

Joyce Boro specialises in Renaissance and medieval literature, with a focus on romance and Anglo-Spanish cultural relations. Her current research project explores the reception of Spanish literature in early modern England by providing an account of the circumstances surrounding the adaptation, production, dissemination, performance, and reading of John Fletcher’s (1579-1625) dramatic adaptations of Spanish literature. Prof. Boro is the editor of John Bourchier, Lord Berners’s Castell of Love (MRTS 2007) and Margaret Tyler’s Mirror of Princely Deeds and Knighthood (MHRA 2013), and author of articles and essays on romance, translation, John Fletcher, book history, and Anglo-Spanish literary interactions. Her work has been awarded research fellowships from SSHRC, FQRSC, the Folger Shakespeare Library, the Henry E. Huntington Library, and the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas.
