Research expertise

L'asthme est une maladie inflammatoire des voies respiratoires qui affecte environ 10% des enfants canadiens. C'est une condition hétérogène avec différentes présentations et facteurs de risque. Il y a également une variabilité importante dans la réponse aux médications pour traiter l'asthme.  Mes intérêts de recherche sont axés sur l'épidémiologie et la pharmacogénétique de l'asthme pédiatrique, spécifiquement l'étude des facteurs de risque génétiques et non-génétiques de l'asthme et la réponse aux traitements ainsi que l'utilisation de tests cliniques (ex. test de fonctions pulmonaires, biomarqueurs, imagerie pulmonaire) pour clarifier les sous-groupes d'asthme. L'identification de ces facteurs de risques et de sous-groupes permettrait un traitement plus personnalisé pour l'enfant atteint d'asthme.
