Research expertise

  • Études des exigences associées à la réalisation de différentes tâches fonctionnelles auprès de clientèles atteintes de déficiences et incapacités (ex : blessés médullaires, etc.)
  • Interventions thérapeutiques ayant pour but  d’optimiser la performance lors de la réalisation des transferts et de la propulsion du fauteuil roulant
  • Quantification et réadaptation de la stabilité posturale en position assise
  • Imagerie quantitative par ultrasonographie

Biography

Depuis son entrée en fonction à titre de professeur à l’UdeM, en 2009, Dany Gagnon a particulièrement attiré l’attention avec sa vision et sa philosophie de l’encadrement aux cycles supérieurs. À ce jour, il a dirigé 15 étudiants à la maîtrise, 12 au doctorat et 5 au postdoctorat. Et c’est sans compter les 4 résidentes du programme de médecine physique et réadaptation qui ont fait un stage de recherche sous sa direction, les 50 étudiants à la maîtrise en sciences de la physiothérapie qui ont effectué un travail dirigé et la dizaine d’étudiants étrangers venus faire des séjours d’au moins quatre mois dans son laboratoire de pathokinésiologie, à l’Institut de réadaptation Gingras-Lindsay-de-Montréal du Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux du Centre-Sud-de-l’Ile-de-Montréal. Tous sans exception ont terminé leur formation dans les délais requis, ce qui dénote le caractère exceptionnel de son encadrement.
