Biography
Mélanie Henderson est une pédiatre endocrinologue, épidémiologiste et chercheure au CHU Sainte-Justine et professeure agrégée de clinique au département de pédiatrie de l'Université de Montréal. Ses intérêts de recherche portent principalement sur la santé cardiométabolique pédiatrique et son épidémiologie. Elle s’intéresse tout particulièrement à l’influence des habitudes de vie (activité physique, sédentarité, alimentation, sommeil) sur la santé métabolique dans diverses populations, incluant les enfants en santé, ainsi que ceux vivant avec le diabète de type 1 et de type 2, dans le but d’identifier les meilleures stratégies de prévention. Elle est co-directrice du centre CIRCUIT du CHU Sainte-Justine (Centre pédiatrique d'intervention en prévention et en réadaptation cardiovasculaires), qui propose des stratégies novatrices de traitement ou de prévention des maladies cardiovasculaires chez l’enfant.
