  • Recherche s'intéressant aux aspects éthiques reliés à la mise en place de programmes d'échanges en transplantation rénale, plus particulièrement à la problématique des patients du groupe O. Utilisation de méthodologies qualitatives.
  • Travaux sur les représentations de la transplantation d'organes dans la presse écrite québécoise et dans les écrits scientifiques.

Biography

Marie-Chantal Fortin, M.D., Ph.D., F.R.C.P.(c) est néphrologue au sein de l’équipe de transplantation rénale du Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal, chercheure au Centre de recherches du CHUM et professeure agrégée de clinique à l’Université de Montréal. Elle a complété une formation doctorale en bioéthique à l’Université de Montréal pendant laquelle elle s’est intéressée aux représentations des transplanteurs français et québécois autour de la question du don entre vifs.. Par ailleurs, Marie-Chantal Fortin a participé à l’élaboration de lignes directrices de la Société Canadienne de Néphrologie et de la Société Canadienne de Transplantation sur la question du tourisme de transplantation. Finalement, ses travaux de recherche actuels portent sur la situation des receveurs du groupe O dans les programmes d’échange et sont subventionnés par les IRSC. Marie-Chantal Fortin est récipiendaire d’une bourse de nouveau chercheur du programme KESCENT est d’une bourse chercheur clinicien du FRQS.
